"Badasses on stilts"

Films: Alien from the Deep (1989)

Alias: None

Type: Alien/Mutant

Location: Underground/Haunted home

Height/Weight: That of a large crane.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: It's an alien! It's a mutant! It's huge! It'll go down in cinematic monster history...right...?

History: For a while, some idiots from a far-off corporation have been pouring their problems, namely bucketloads of radiation, into a dormant volcano. But what they don't realize is that the volcano isn't the only thing dormant down there. It houses an armored alien that has been amplified by the radiation, and it's ready to come out of hiding.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: The alien is confronted by both a bulldozer and a flamethrower. The latter works, as it breaks its helmet, and allows the creature to be knocked out by the fumes and tumble down the volcano's chute.

Powers/Abilities: Practically immovable by most means.

Weakness: Fire.

Scariness Factor: 2.5-It's a damn shame, really. This thing has a fantastic and intimidating design, and yet it's all completely ruined by the fact that it can't stand straight to save its own life. It's so big that it needs to be hung up by the effect's artists like a puppet on a shoddy marionette.

Trivia: -As one might guess, this was another blatant Italian rip-off of "Aliens".

-This film was directed by Antonio Margheriti, who also gave us the equally detestable "Yor, the Hunter from the Future" in 1983.
